[Brussels c. 1851] 7 lines, on bifolio, 21 x 13.5 cm, Angoulème dry-stamped wove paper (qqs. pet. taches, pet. déch. marg. due to opening, collector's annot. in pen above address on verso). "Mon cher Étienne, j'en suis au 27 juillet 1830 - memoires - peux-tu venir déjeuner avec moi aujourd'hui [...] avec [Louis] Laussedat". The three men were part of a community of French opponents of Napoleon III's regime who had taken refuge in Belgium. It was in Brussels that Dumas began writing his Mémoires.
