Study Alexandrine of Prussia Depiction of a young woman in a stately gown with tiara in a castle interior, the motif is very similar to the 1866 painting "Princess Alexandrine of Prussia, Duchess of Mecklenburg-Schwerin" by Laurens Lodewijk Kleijn, slightly impasto painting with partly broad brushstrokes, oil on canvas and stretcher, 2nd half 19th cent, unsigned, minor craquelure, closed losses to the canvas, retouched, unframed, dimensions approx. 47 x 36.5 cm.

Tableau des guerres de Frédéric le Grand, ou plans figurés de vingt-six batailles rangées ou combats essentiels, donnés dans les trois guerres de Silésie ; avec une Explication précise de chaque bataille. A work that can be used to understand the Military part of the Life of Frederick II. Potzdam, et se trouve à Strasbourg chez J.G. Treuttel, à Paris, chez Durand neveu, 1788. In-4 blond calf, smooth ornate spine, title page in red marble, triple gilt fillet framing the covers with gilt fleurons in spandrels, gilt edges, roulette on the covers (period binding). 92 pp. printed on beautiful thick laid paper and a large folding engraved plate depicting 26 battle plans and a table of the war. Ex-libris manucrit from the library of the Château de L'Isle-de-Noé, signed by the Comte de Noé, most probably Louis-Pantaléon de Noé (1728-1816), owner of a plantation and slaves in Saint-Domingue (he is said to have freed Toussaint-Louverture, with whom he maintained regular relations). A rare and fine copy with an interesting provenance.
