Allegory of the Revolution, France, circa 1790 A rare revolutionary folded fan, the double sheet is made of paper engraved and enhanced in color with an allegory of the French Revolution. In the center, two figures embody the Kingdom of France and Renommée. They support a lictor beam evoking concord, topped by a Phrygian cap. On the sides, two allegories. One with an eagle subduing a sheep, on a pedestal bearing the inscriptions "Égalité, sûreté, propriété", the other of a rooster encircling a lion with the words "Force et Vigilance". Around it, four verses including "La mort ou la Liberté /c'est la devise Commune". Among the symbols of Concord and Time, the Tables of Human Rights, with only the numbers of the 17 articles. Mute reverse. Wooden mounting, the plumes enhanced with bone fillets. Height 28.2 cm-H.f13.3 cm (one fold cut, wear, stains, cuts, restorations)

Studiolo two-body, slightly recessed, walnut and burr-walnut CABINET with extensive carved decoration on the cornice in the antique style and on the jambs of figures, warriors and putti in the round. The upper part opens with two drawers and a flap, supported by two pulls in the form of horsemen, revealing eight drawers, and three doors sculpted with caryatids and figures, framed by porticos sculpted with statuettes, and revealing numerous drawers. The lower part opens with two leaves simulating arched doors decorated in high relief with cherubs and architectural motifs, and stands on feet decorated in the round with lion protuberances. Italy, Province of Liguria, late 15th - early 16th century. 183 x 108 x 51 cm. Misses, accidents and restorations.
