LECLERE - MDV - €1,1M for an Impressionist and Modern Art sale

On Monday 25 June, an Impressionist and modern sale organised by auction house Leclere – Maison de ventes achieved €1,144,000*.

Together, three drawings by Amadeo MODIGLIANI (1884-1920) kept in a Swiss collection for over 50 years achieved €250,900*. Acquired for €104,000*, one of the representations of a caryatide shows - on its back - a handwritten poem by the artist – one of the five we know. (Lots n° 41 ;42 ;43) 
 
  


Cagnes Valley, Saint-Jeannet Baou, an oil on canvas painted in 1905 by Pierre-Auguste RENOIR (1841-1919) was acquired for €149,500* by the city of Cagnes-sur-Mer. This work of art therefore joins the collection of the Renoir museum, the artist’s former home, where he lived during the last 12 years of his life. (Lot n° 10)
 

Finally, Young lady with bracelet rejoiced the bidders. This 1944 Indian ink on paper drawing by Henri MATISSE (1869-1954), executed in Vence, reached €143,000*. (Lot n° 51)
