BEAUSSANT LEFÈVRE - €350,000 for a painting by Théodore Géricault

The paintings and furniture auction organised by auction house Beaussant-Lefèvre on Friday 15 June totalled €1,832,250 (including premium).
Several bidding battles ended up with important results such as Boy feeding an uncoupled horse oat by Théodore GÉRICAULT (1791-1824) which was acquired for €350,000 (including premium; lot n° 57) and a Mughal or Persian carpet from the former collection of Henry-René d’Allemagne was sold for €218,750 (including premium; lot n° 335).
Furniture was successfully sold: it notably included a chest of drawers stamped by Jacob Frères rue Meslée from the former collection of Suchet d’Albufera (Duke of Albufera) at the Château de Montgobert (Montgobert Palace) which was acquired for €90,000 (including premium; lot n°162).
