A fine set of cased percussion pistols by the successor of F. P. Geerinckx in Paris, circa 1850/60 Octagonal barrels with original, highly polished finish (slightly stained). Eight-groove rifled barrels in 12 mm calibre. Dovetailed rear sights, the breech plugs and tangs engraved and gilt. Gilt locks engraved with decorative tendrils. Lavishly carved half stocks of ebonised walnut. Gilt and engraved furniture. Length of each 41 cm. In the associated case of black lacquered wood, a vacant brass plaque inset into the lid. Lockable, the original key is included. The interior lined in red velvet, the gold-embossed maker's mark "Geerinckx, Succ. de Gauvain, Paris" inside the lid. The elaborate interior with two compartments, containing a complete set of accessories, comprising cleaning rod and ramrod, loading hammer, bullet mould, combined nipple wrench and screwdriver, powder flask and patch box. Dimensions of the case 8.5 x 47 x 25.5 cm. F. P. Geerinckx is documented in Paris in the second half of the 19th century, supplier to the Foreign Ministry. His successor Alfred Gauvain took part in the Industrial Exposition in 1889. Condition: I - II

Im Folgeschritt wird die Papierunterlage des Abzuges abgerieben, sodass nur die transparente Emulsion zurückbleib. Im Anschluss wurde die Arbeit rückseitig dann von Hand in Ölfarben koloriert. Crysstoleen waren zwischen den 1880er - 1910er Jahren sehr beliebt. - Edouard Bisson war ein französischer Maler des Fin de Siècle. Er ist vor allem für seine ätherischen Frauendarstellungen bekannt, bei denen er sich auf die Überhöhung einer stilisierten Form weiblicher Schönheit konzentrierte und die stillistisch stark an die Präraffaeliten erinnern. Bisson stellte merhmals im Pariser Salon aus und gewann 1900 die Bronzemedaille auf der Weltausstellung. - Auf dem Glas punktuell mit wenigen und oberflächlichen Kratzern. Insgesamt gut. Crystoleum on convex glass plate. Signed. Framed in a frame of the time. - In the Crystoleum technique, an albumen print is glued to the inside of a convex glass plate. In the following step, the paper backing of the print is rubbed off so that only the transparent emulsion remains. The work was then coloured on the reverse side by hand in oil paints. - Edouard Bisson was a French painter of the Fin de Siècle. He is best known for his ethereal depictions of women, in which he concentrated on the exaggeration of a stylised form of female beauty and which are strongly reminiscent of the Pre-Raphaelites in terms of stillness. - On the glass with few and superficial scratches in spots. Overall well preserved.
