VITTORIO DASSI (Italy, 1893-1973). Dining table, 1950s. Calacatta marble and mahogany wood. In good condition according to its age and use. Measurements: 77 x 134 x 91 cm. Spectacular table designed by Vittorio Dassi, prestigious Italian designer active in the middle of the last century. Made of mahogany wood with an oval-shaped calacatta marble top. Simple structure, with a single foot that supports, in the central area, the top. This tulip foot is made of carved and lacquered mahogany, which gives it great sumptuousness. Its shape is flared towards the floor, emphasized by the grooves. It rests on an oval-shaped marble base that matches the top. Underneath the top, the structure is again made of wood. With its unique features and meticulous attention to detail, this table is a testament to Vittorio Dassi's innovative vision and artistic sensibility. Vittorio Dassi's furniture, made in the 1940s and 1950s, is distinguished by the choice of fine woods such as rosewood, cherry, ash and walnut, often decorated with inlaid panels and glass signed by great master glassmakers. Elegant in design without losing functional quality, his furniture can be compared to the refined style of Gio Ponti, to whom Vittorio was linked by important collaborations after taking over from his father at Dassi Mobili Moderni in Lissone. One of the factory's most important projects was the creation of furniture for the rooms of the Hotel Royal in Naples, designed by Ponti in the mid-1950s, a period that marked Dassi's turn towards more schematic forms and teak wood for the production of modular furniture.

ROGER CAPRON (France, 1922 - 2006). Vase, ca.1970's. Ceramic. Signed on the base. Measurements: 29 cm x 14 cm x 14 cm. Vase made by the French ceramist Roger Capron. Of rectangular structure, chiseled with a synthetic sunflower on one of its sides, it presents an attractive aesthetic of archaic inspiration. Interested in drawing since he was a child, the ceramist Roger Capron studied Applied Arts in Paris between 1939 and 1943, and from 1945 he combined his artistic activity with teaching. In 1946 he settled in Vallauris, where he created a workshop known as Atelier Callis, fundamental in the renaissance of the art of ceramics in this locality. A few years later, in 1952, Capron acquired an abandoned ceramics factory in Vallauris and reopened it with fifteen workers; by 1957 his factory was already enjoying considerable international prestige. In 1980, one hundred and twenty workers were working there, and at this time he began to produce unique pieces that were exhibited in different countries, although the economic crisis led to the closure of the factory in 1982. In 1982 Capron created a new workshop under his own name. Throughout his career, this artist was awarded a gold medal at the Milan Triennale (1954), a silver medal at Cannes (1955), a gold medal again at the Brussels Architectural Ceramics Exhibition on two occasions (1957 and 1958), the French Ministry of Culture prize (1970) and the Prix Spécial de l'Architecture (1980).

RICHARD HUTTEN (Zwollerkerspel, Holland, 1967). Pair of Berlage chairs. Oak and black fabric strips. In good condition. Presents manufacturing stamp on the back crossbar (made in Rotterdam). Measurements: 85 x 42 x 57.5 cm. Richard Hutten was inspired by architect Berlage's throne chair, created for the Dutch Van Hengel family in 1911. Its main feature is that the back of the chair extends to the back legs. Combining industrial creation techniques for the structure and artisanal techniques for the weaving of the seat using hand-tied straps, the finish is unique and unrepeatable. This chair is in the collections of the Gemeentemuseum The Hague and the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. Richard Hutten opened his studio in Rotterdam after graduating from the Design Academy of Eindhoven in 1991. He is one of the leading exponents of Droog Design, in which he has been involved since its inception in 1993, making him one of the main founders of the famous Dutch design movement. He entered the international design scene with the conceptual pieces The Cross and S(h)it on it, positioning himself as a designer with his own discourse with the idea of 'no sign of design', functional pieces of a conceptual and humorous nature. Since 2008, Richard Hutten has been the artistic director of Gispen, the second largest and most famous furniture brand in the Netherlands, with almost 100 years of history. His work is part of the permanent collections of more than 40 museums worldwide, making him one of the most collected living designers. The list includes MoMa in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam, the Central Museum in Utrecht and the Vitra Design Museum, among others.
