(24 3/8 x 29 1/4 pollici) La composizione di questo dipinto si ispira alla «Deposizione di Cristo» di Jacopo Bassano, che ripropose la scena in diverse occasioni. Bassano realizzò queste opere su tela (Musée du Louvre, n. inv. 433) e su ardesia (Sotheby’s, New York, 29 gennaio 2021, lotto 145), assecondando evidentemente le preferenze dei singoli committenti. Anche il figlio maggiore di Jacopo, Francesco, realizzò numerose varianti di questa composizione (Sotheby's, New York, 22 maggio 2025, lotto 146).
