The first letter, dated Stefanskirch (Austria) December 10, 1800, is an important military communication to General Claude-Jacques Lecourbe, commander of the right wing of the Rhine army. He awaits new orders in the village of Stefanskirch: "...dont la Division occupe les hauteurs. Mes deux Bataillons de gauche ont fait leur jonction à la croisée des routes de Wasserbourg et de Salzbourg. Nous avons fait hier 200 prisonniers, nous avons eu soixante à quatre vingt blessés et quelques tués, mon artillerie de Rosenheim a souffert...". The second letter, dated Ancona (Italy), November 26, 1805, is addressed to Luigi Ricolli and regards provision of supplies to the French troops stationed in Ancona. He orders by requisition that the city's population provide within 24 hours "...cent Rubs [about 2500 kg] de blé..." to meet the needs of the French garrison given "...le refus que la cour de Rome a fait d'y pourvoir...". 3 pp. In-4° and in-8°. - This item is under temporary import.
