Copy of the definitive edition after the ' risciacquatura in Arno' and first illustrated edition, containing in appendix the unpublished Storia della Colonna Infame, introduced by its own frontispiece. The illustrations in the text are drawn by Francesco Gonin and Paolo and Luigi Riccardi, and engraved on wood by Bernard Pollet, Sheeres, and Luigi Sacchi. 4to, (267 x 155 mm). half-title and title page vignette, numerous illustrations (lightly browned and foxed, edges repaired with scotch tape with loss of a few letters to pp. 291, 314, and 361, other small tears at edges not touching text). Second half 20th century gilt calf binding, gilt edges, title gilt to spine, marbled card slipcase (light wear to lower board). Provenance: A.R. Stiassi (ex libris). (1)
