OSTERVALD, Jean Frederic (1773-1850). Viaggio pittorico fatto da Ginevra a Milano per la strada del Sempione. [Milan: Fumagalli, Buzzoni, Bettalli, 1811]. A beautiful copy, with contemporary hand-coloured plates and in a beautiful neoclassical binding, of the Italian translation of the famous 'Pittoresque Voyage de Geneve a Milan' first printed in Paris in 1811. The beautifully engraved and watercoloured plates are from drawings by Gabriel Ludwig Lory (1763-1840) and Mathias Gabriel Lory (1784-1846). Folio, (407 x 275 mm). 12 aquatint plates with contemporary hand-colouring (spotting to the text pages and light browning to the last plate). Green morocco spine, title gilt to spine and boards, gilt decoration. (1)
