Lot containing an early sixteenth-century edition of the opera omnia of Pliny the Younger and an incomplete copy in Italian translation of Pliny the Elder's Natural History. 8vo, (157 x 100mm). (title-page with some restoration and integration, early repair to tear to ff. m8-n7, small holes to first and final leaves repaired, some spotting and foxing). 19th century binding with calf spine. Provenance: some contemporary notes and later pencil annotations [IN LOT WITH:] PLINY the Elder (23-79 AD). Historia naturale. Venice: Griffio, 1580. 4to (210 x 145mm). Title within woodcut border, woodcut initials (lacking ff. x, x2, x7 and x8, right margin chipped up to f. 50, some stains and wormholes, mostly marginal).
