[MILITARIA] PUYSEGUR, Jacques-François de Chastenet (1656-1743). L'arte della guerra. Naples: Pellecchia, 1753. Scarce illustrated Italian edition of this treatise on war and the deployment of soldiers, written by the French general who served in all of Louis XIV's campaigns. 4to, (244 x 180mm). Two volumes, engraved vignettes and initials, 50 (of 51) folding plates (lacking the frontispiece portrait of Charles of Bourbon, first volume: tear to pp. 43 and 243, plates 3 and 33 loose, small tears to the plates of the second volume, slight scattered browning, minor defects). Contemporary full calf binding, spine gilt, gilt title-piece to spine, gilt edges (some wear). (2)
