Portrait of an actor in the comedy Shitennoji garan kagami at the Naka Theater (Osaka). From the series Biographies of Brave Men at the Height of Their Careers (Eika jinyuden). Another portrait from the series with identical signature at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, Accession Number: 1983.1.42.1. Utagawa Kunishige is a late name adopted by the artist Yamaguchi Shigeharu, actif in Osaka.Kinginzuri is a fine method of printing gold or silver (and other metallic pigments) on a woodblock print ukiyo-e.

L’opera, avversa all’astrologia giudiziaria, si propone di sintetizzare le nozioni di astronomia, cosmografia, e geografia astronomica allora più diffuse, con accenni al telescopio e allo zodiaco; interessanti le figure astronomiche che adornano il testo. Cinti dedica un lunga nota a questo libro. Riccardi conosce questa sola edizione, ma ne riporta due anteriori citate dai biografi urbinati; tuttavia nel censimento Opac non compaiono edizioni anteriore a questa, né risultano in Word-Cat e nei repertori consultati. The work intends to synthesize the notions of astronomy, cosmography, astronomy and geography, with hints of the telescope and the zodiac; interesting astronomical figures that adorn the text. Cinti devotes a long note in this book. Morgagni e una delle figure eminenti della chirurgia italiana del Settecento, che operò nell’ospedale di Vicenza. Questo breve scritto, rientra all’interno della sua breve attività di divulgatore scientifico, in quanto queste pubblicazioni, a suo avviso, rovinavano il progresso della scienza. Morgagni is one of the eminent figures of Italian surgery of the eighteenth century, who operated in the hospital of Vicenza. This short piece is part of his brief activity as a scientific popularizer, as these publications, in his opinion, ruined the progress of science. The volume also includes a critical dissertation by Antonio Farinoni on Bonioli's work.
