Censors’ seal: Hama, Magome. Oval seal with zodiac date (Ox, 9). Signs of wear. Bright colours. Beautiful night scene from the play Kaidan kohada Koheiji, performed at the Kawarazaki in 07/1853. This kabuki tale about ghosts is apparently based on parts of a true story. A fantastic supernatural design with an eerie setting.
