The one-piece case, initially produced in 1954, features a water-resistant screw-down case back made by master Antoine Gerlach (identifiable by the key-shaped punch No. 4), which is perhaps the most interesting feature of this particular reference. Successor to the Calatrava ref 96, the thick, flat coin bezel is certainly a familiar feature. The special feature in this case lies in the dial@@@ in fact, it can be seen that the color is black, a much sought-after feature on Pateks of this era, and it also bears applied Breguet numerals.Accompanied with an excerpt from the Patek Philippe archives confirming the production of this timepiece in 1956 and subsequent sale in 1957, this is a great opportunity for vintage Calatrave lovers to acquire one of the earliest “Etanche” references. La ref 2555 è un poco diffusa sul mercato. La cassa monoblocco, inizialmente prodotta nel 1954, presenta un fondello a vite resistente all'acqua realizzato dal maestro Antoine Gerlach (identificabile tramite il punzone a forma di chiave n. 4), che è forse la caratteristica più interessante di questa particolare referenza. Successore del Calatrava ref 96, la lunetta a moneta spessa e piatta è certamente una caratteristica familiare. La particolarità in questo caso risiede nel quadrante, si può notare infatti che il colore è nero, caratteristica molto ricercata sui Patek di quest’epoca ed inoltre riporta numeri Breguet applicati. Accompagnato con un estratto degli archivi Patek Philippe che conferma la produzione di questo segnatempo nel 1956 e successiva vendita nel 1957, è una grande opportunità per gli amanti dei Calatrave d'epoca di acquisire una delle prime referenze ”Etanche”.
