On its first release it featured pointed shoulders, a butterfly rotor and a 1530 caliber. The following year, however, it underwent some modifications and the rotor changed to a crescent shape, while the caliber changed from 1530 to 1520. Nato nel 1962 con l'obiettivo di affiancare il Rolex 5512, il modello Submariner Rolex 5513 è stato protagonista negli anni di numerosi restyling. Alla sua prima uscita si presenta con spalle appuntite, rotore a farfalla e calibro 1530. L'anno successivo, tuttavia, subisce alcune modifiche e il rotore passa a mezzaluna, mentre il calibro passa da 1530 a 1520.
