Around 1907. Different techniques, among them albumen and silver gelatin prints on photographic paper. On verso partly dated and inscribed. - Depicted: View of Windhoek (Windhoek) and photograph of a radio station. - Burial ceremony for a native. - Pontoks in Grootfontein. - A mast station set up by the "Schutztruppe" for radio transmission, pictures of the natives as well as other pictures from Otjituuo. - Camel patrol with Lieutenants Lehmann and Plieninger - The dry river Omuramba-Omatako in north-eastern Namibia and the Kunene River. - Local cattle herders. - Photographs of the Bantu people of the Ovambo. - The Herero chief Ranjo. - Village in the Erongo Mountains near Karibib. - The towns of Okahandja and Otavi. - Occasional photographs of wild animals such as leopards and hippos, with numerous nature scenes a.o. - Occasionally with duplicates, mainly in the edges somewhat bumped and partly creased, occasionally with small holes from the previous mounting in the corners and somewhat faded. Der Zinkguss eingeschlagen in nummerierter Textildecke. - Rachel Whiteread wurde für diese Ausgabe eingeladen, ein für sie besonders wichtiges Buch auszuwählen, für das sie dann eine neue Schutzumschlag entwirft und unter ihrem eigenen Namen als "Reprint" präsentiert. In diesem Fall hat der Künstler Mike and the Modelmakers' von M. Sasek gewählt, das 1970 veröffentlicht wurde. Das Londoner Studio von Whiteread lag gegenüber der Firma Lesney, die in den 1970er Jahren der Spielzeughersteller des Matchbox-Autos war. "I chose this book because it is related to where I live and how I work. My old studio was next to the site of the original matchbox factory. As a child I played with matchbox cars, now my children play with them. A lot of those industrial buildings have been demolished in readiness for the 2012 Olympics. I found an original copy of this book in a junk shop in the late 1980's, it seemed like a fitting tribute to those old buildings and the author / illustrator M.Sasek and to those great matchbox cars. I was happy to give it a new lease of life." (R. Whiteread) - Sehr gutes und vollständiges Exemplar. With an original zinc casting and one signed ex libris - serigraph. One of 40 copies of the special edition, signed and numbered by Whiteread herself. The zinc cast with textile cover by Whiteread and numbered and monogrammed. - Rachel Whiteread was invited for this issue to select a book of particular importance to her, for which she then designs a new dust jacket and presents it under her own name as "Reprint". Works by Torrescassana are preserved, among others, in the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, the Víctor Balaguer Library Museum, or the Museum of Art of Gerona, and the collection of Banco Sabadell, with a painting dedicated to the vintage in which the traditional realism that characterized much of his painting, closely linked to the teachings received from Martí Alsina, opens up to new studies of light. As for portraits, also abundant in his artistic production, the University of Barcelona keeps the portrait of Pablo González Huebra in the rectoral gallery, as well as in the dining room of Antoni Gaudí's Casa Vicens.
