Una sciabola M 1838 per gli ufficiali dei Chasseurs de Vincennes Lama a un solo taglio (in alcuni punti macchiata, bucherellata), "Manufre d Klingenthal ..." ancora riconoscibile sul dorso. Elsa a nocca in metallo non ferroso (un po' allentata) con tracce di doratura, impugnatura in corno (avvolgimento del filo mancante, crepe). Fodero in ferro (ammaccature, buche, piccoli fori, fascia anulare deformata). Danneggiato, segni del tempo. Lunghezza 93 cm. Raro. Condizione: III

Hierzu entsprechend gestaltete er den Titel für den Mappendeckel im ähnlichen Stil. - Enthält KEINE Graphiken. - Etw. gebrauchsspurig, insgesamt jedoch gut erhalten. - Beigegeben: 3 Bll. Der Zinkguss eingeschlagen in nummerierter Textildecke. - Rachel Whiteread wurde für diese Ausgabe eingeladen, ein für sie besonders wichtiges Buch auszuwählen, für das sie dann eine neue Schutzumschlag entwirft und unter ihrem eigenen Namen als "Reprint" präsentiert. In diesem Fall hat der Künstler Mike and the Modelmakers' von M. Sasek gewählt, das 1970 veröffentlicht wurde. Das Londoner Studio von Whiteread lag gegenüber der Firma Lesney, die in den 1970er Jahren der Spielzeughersteller des Matchbox-Autos war. "I chose this book because it is related to where I live and how I work. My old studio was next to the site of the original matchbox factory. As a child I played with matchbox cars, now my children play with them. A lot of those industrial buildings have been demolished in readiness for the 2012 Olympics. I found an original copy of this book in a junk shop in the late 1980's, it seemed like a fitting tribute to those old buildings and the author / illustrator M.Sasek and to those great matchbox cars. Alcune tavole recano una lievissima traccia di numerazione.
