MAISON ALPHONSE GIROUX (atto 1799-1867). Etagère; 1860 circa. Bronzo cesellato e brunito con lastre di vetro incise. Opera riprodotta in C. Payne, Paris Furniture: the luxury market of the 19th century, Éditions Monelle Hayot, 2018, p. 77 (illustrato). Firmato Aph Giroux Paris. Misure: 89,5 x 48 x 48 cm. Etagère in bronzo dorato e vetro in stile giapponese. I prodotti giapponesi divennero sempre più familiari a Parigi grazie alla grande esposizione nel padiglione giapponese all'Esposizione Universale del 1867 e successivamente a Vienna nel 1873. Le ditte parigine Christofle e Barbedienne furono le principali esponenti della nuova moda del giapponismo. Il Japonisme si applicava principalmente ai mobili in metallo con poca o nessuna lavorazione del legno. Nelle arti decorative occidentali si mescolano motivi giapponesi e giapponesi in uno stesso oggetto, il che può rendere spesso difficile, se non impossibile, definire con precisione se l'oggetto debba essere descritto come cineseria o giapponismo. Una rivista newyorkese chiamata Art Amateur è stata una delle prime a usare il termine "japanesque" come risposta appropriata al mobile di Giroux. Due creatori di design e primi sostenitori dello stile orientale a Parigi furono Giroux e Duvinage. Il primo vendette il suo negozio a Ferdinand Duvinage e al suo socio Harinckouk nel 1867. Giroux adattò principalmente l'arte cinese; la sua pubblicazione Meubles et fantaisies, del 1840 circa, mostra tavoli in questo nuovo idioma alla moda e ricorda i mobili in cartapesta dello stesso periodo. DTitel und 1 Pp.-Band mit montiertem Etikett (Einbände mit teils größeren Defekten, angestaubt und fleckig). Weberei - Stoffmuster C. G. Boden & Söhne Sammlung von 6 Alben mit insgesamt ca. 1500 Stoffmustern. Großröhrsdorf bei Dresden, um 1900-1912. 4° u. Folio. 5 Lwd.-Bände mit goldgepr. DTitel und 1 Pp.-Band mit montiertem Etikett (Einbände mit teils größeren Defekten, angestaubt und fleckig). Überaus vielfältige Sammlung des sächsischen Traditionsunternehmens, welches um 1819 von dem Industriellen Carl Gottlob Boden (1797-1877) als Fabrik für Band- und Gurtproduktion gegründet wurde. Großröhrsdorf etablierte sich bereits im 17. Jahrhundert als Standort für die Bandweberei. Die vorliegende Sammlung enthält eine große Bandbreite an Mustern in verschiedensten Farben und Techniken, darunter zahlreiche gewebete Streifenmuster und gestickte florale Ornamente. Die Seiten der 5 Leinwand-Bände sind eingefasst in ornamental goldgeprägten Bordüren. Das Papp-Album von 1912 ist chronologisch geordnet von Januar bis Dezember und mit ausführlicheren handschriftlichen Annotationen versehen. Ein weiterer Band enthält einen montierten lithographischen Ausschnitt mit einer Illustration der Fabrik in Grossröhrsdorf und Titel "Mechanische Weberei baumwoll. & wollner figurirte Gurte, Doppelgurte & Hosenträger". Enthält zahlreiche Muster von Gurten, darunter Sattelgurte, Taillengurte, Stiefelgurte, brochierte Gurte, Blumen-Gurte, Patentgurte, etc. - Vereinzelt mit fehlenden Mustern. Albumseiten papierbedingt gebräunt und teils etwas fleckig. Die Bordüren teils mit Fehlstellen und Defekten. Vereinzelt leichter Insektenfraß, ein Band auf den Albumseiten im oberen Rand stärker betroffen mit resultierenden Fehlstellen. Die Muster insgesamt sehr gut erhalten und überwiegend sauber und intakt. Weaving. - Collection of 6 albums with a total of approx. 1500 fabric samples. Occasional insect damage, one volume on the album pages more heavily affected in the upper margin with resulting losses. The designs very well preserved overall and mostly clean and intact. Works by Torrescassana are preserved, among others, in the National Museum of Art of Catalonia, the Víctor Balaguer Library Museum, or the Museum of Art of Gerona, and the collection of Banco Sabadell, with a painting dedicated to the vintage in which the traditional realism that characterized much of his painting, closely linked to the teachings received from Martí Alsina, opens up to new studies of light.
