Elegant counterfeit of the 1527 edition, printed in only 300 copies and published at the request of the English consul Joseph Smith, reproducing the typeface and printer's device of the original version but correcting errors in pagination. 4to, (250 x 180mm). Printer's device on title page and colophon with fleur-de-lis supported by two putti; an uncut, wide-margined copy (wormhole to first two leaves touching text, otherwise good copy). Contemporary carta rustica binding, spine lettered in manuscript. Provenance: ex libris Ludovico De Gobbis (20th century). (1)

It is mentioned, in order that the student may consult the very learned prolegomena which it contains'. 4to, (310 x 225mm). Author's portrait to frontispiece, engraved vignette to title page, uncut (occasional foxing). First half of the 20th century boards with gilt title-piece to spine.
