[Erbario]. Gart der Gesundheit. Augusta, Johann Schönsperger, 10.05.1496. In 2° (278 x 190 mm); [251] carte. Circa 380 figure xilografiche in coloritura coeva raffiguranti piante e animali (mancano le prime 5 carte e le ultime 6 con l'indice, alone, tracce d'uso, altri piccoli difetti.) Legatura coeva in mezza pelle color nocciola su assi di legno con placche a secco, tracce di due fermagli (provenienza tolta). Importante edizione tedesca a cura di Johannes de Cuba con le figure in bella coloritura antica.Klebs, Cat. Early Herbals 23: "forms an important landmark in the history of botanical illustration, and marks perhaps the greatest single step ever made in that art" e "Though based on the Herbarius, it is a new creation in the vernacular, distinguished by original concepts, both textually and artistically ... a compendium of the whole pharmacy of that time".
