Nennung des Künstlers und Inventar-Nummer. - Fein ausgeführte, zeichnerische Vorlage für die nach ihrem Begründer und Illustrator Lothar Meggendorfer (1847-1925) benannte satirische Zeitschrift, welche von 1889 bis 1928 unter wechselnden Titeln erschien. - Carl Becker (1862 - vor 1935) war ein aus Karlsruhe stammender Porträt- und Genremaler sowie Illustrator für Militärkunst. Er studierte in seiner Heimatstadt an der Großherzoglich Badischen Kunstschule Malerei und war anfangs in Berlin, ab 1899 in München tätig. - Einige wenige, sehr unscheinbare Braunfleckchen. Sehr guter Zustand. Original illustration sketch for the Meggendorfer Blätter. Around 1900. Chalk and ink on buff, strong vélin, heightened with white. Monogrammed. Mounted in spots on backing and under passepartout, framed under glass. - Verso with stamp of the Meggendorfer Blätter with handwritten name of the artist and inventory number. - Finely executed drawing for the satirical magazine named after its founder and illustrator Lothar Meggendorfer (1847-1925), which was published from 1889 to 1928 under different titles. - Carl Becker (1862 - before 1935) was a portrait and genre painter from Karlsruhe as well as an illustrator of military art. He studied painting in his hometown at the Grand Ducal School of Art in Baden and was active initially in Berlin and from 1899 in Munich. - A few very inconspicuous brown spots. Very good condition.

Das Blatt erschien 1958 in dem Portfolio "Contemporary Paintings", welches für die Journées Médicales Toulousaines in einer Auflage von 750 Exemplaren herausgegeben wurde. Das vorliegende Blatt wohl ein Künstlerexemplar außerhalb dieser Auflage. - Etwas braunfleckig im weißen Rand. Farbsatter Abzug, durch die Widmung unikatär. Colour lithograph on chamois-coloured Arches. Signed in the stone and with handwritten dedication to the French printer Fernand Mourlot: "A Fernand en toute amitié." The sheet appeared in 1958 in the portfolio "Contemporary Paintings", which was published for the Journées Médicales Toulousaines in an edition of 750 copies. The present sheet probably an artist's copy outside this edition. - Some brown staining in the white margin. Richly coloured impression, unique due to the dedication.

Deutschland - Berlin Zank und Gericke, Hans und Willi Winterallee. 1930er Jahre. Öl auf Leiwand. 37,5 x 44,4 cm. Von beiden Künstlern signiert. Gerahmt. - Partiell feines, altersbedingtes Craquelé. Vereinzelt kleine, aufliegende braune Flecken. Insgesamt gut. Stimmungsvolle Winterlandschaft, in spätimpressionistischem Duktus und Stil. Zank und Gericke waren ein Berliner Künstlerduo aus dem Berliner Nordwesten, das sich während des Kunststudiums kennenlernte und seitdem zusammen malte. Zank undn Gericke widmeten sich vorrangig Berliner Motiven und Menschen - es waren Alltagsbeobachtungen, Portraits und Landschaftsszenen, die die Künstler festhielten und so ein Kaleidoskop Berlins und seiner Umgebung schufen. Stilistisch arbeiteten die beiden Künstler deart harmonisch, dass eine regelrechte Symbiose entstand. Oil on canvas. Signed by both artists. Framed. - Partially fine, age-related craquelure. Occasional small brown stains. Good overall. Atmospheric winter landscape in late Impressionist style. - Zank and Gericke were a Berlin artist duo from the north-west of Berlin who met while studying art and painted together ever since. Zank and Gericke primarily focussed on Berlin motifs and people - the artists captured everyday observations, portraits and landscape scenes thus creating a kaleidoscope of Berlin and its surroundings.
