A Carrara marble torso of a resting satyr, Italian or French school, H 92 cm (torso) On a black lacquered metal and wooden base. The model of the satyr is well-known and can be traced back to an original type of resting satyr introduced by Praxiteles. Several Roman copies can be found in museum collections. We refer to the sculpture in the Louvre Collections, with ref. NIII 2660, Ma 664.
