An Eboshi cap
dating: Period (1603-1867) provenance: Japan, Light, lacquered paper structure with laces similar to chin-straps. In its rectangular, black lacquered box with lid and a ring on the sides placed on a gilded metal base shaped as a chrysanthemum. On the bottom of the box marking and stamp in Japanese 'Mi-eboshi-shi, Sugimoto Mimasaka-no-kami' (Master of Manufacture for Eboshi of Mimasaka). height 17.5 cm.
