Original illustration made by Matania and published in the English magazine The Sphere n. 1258 in 1924. The opening of new excavations in Pompeii in 1924 prompted the English publisher to commission Matania for a series of scenes of daily life in ancient Pompeii: a new vintage of wine is brought to Pompeii from the countryside after the harvest. Lack in the lower left corner and crease in the upper left corner. Signed.
