A Chinese cinnabar lacquer circular box and cover, 19th century, carved with Han Xiangzi playing a dizi in a wooded grove as an attendant listens, both sat beneath a pine tree emerging from the jagged rockwork with a mountainous landscape stretching out in the distance beyond, all within a dense border of intricately carved leaves and peony blossoms, 17.4cm diameter 品相報告 Condition Report: Splits to the lacquer issuing out from the edge of the cover, stopping just short of the peony border. Some losses to the lacquer surface, mostly in the areas where the box and cover meet. There is some slight warping, meaning the cover does not sit flush with the box. Examined under UV.
