A nicely executed porcelain jar was created during the Qing dynasty. Its base begins with a narrow foot that gives rise to an elegant bamboo fern pattern pointing to the sky. This type of glazing is one of the characteristics of Ge ware, which is thought to have been produced in the Hangzhou region Provenance: private collection in Pennsylvania. During the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644 AD), crackle became a highly sought-after decorative technique, and it was used to create intricate and beautiful designs on ceramics and lacquer ware. Dimensions: H: 17 1/4 in., (44 cm.) The vase is in very good condition.
