Cuadros, mobiliario y objetos de arte, esculturas, cerámicas: talleres de Gustave Violet y Pierre Bardou-Job
The contents of the Château Blanc de Prades, formerly owned by sculptor and architect Gustave Violet, will be auctioned off. Items on offer will range from a19th-centurymarine safe—also known as a “Marseille safe”—(€1,500–2,000) to a terracotta column sculpted by the artist (€300–500). Violet also founded a ceramics workshop, Saint Marti, which Pierre Bardou—whose father had patented JOB cigarette papers—revived after purchasing the company. Expect to pay 100–150 € for a set of planters, flower holders, and planters from the Bardou-JOB period, based on a design by Violet. From the Château d’Aubiry, formerly owned by the Bardou family, part of a white porcelain dinner service “Vieux Paris” is still expected to fetch 1,500–2,000 €, and an Art Nouveau dressing table in cherry wood, carved with plant motifs, sycamore, and light wood marquetry, is expected to fetch 1,000–1,500 €.
