PIERRE CHAPO (Paris, 1927-1987). Extending dining table model T40, 1970s. Elm wood. With two extensions. Without extensions the table has a round shape, with the extensions it becomes oval. Measurements: 170 x 120 x 74 cm (measurements with one extension); 120 x 74 x 74 x 74 cm (measurements without extension). Round/oval dining table T40 designed by Pierre Chapo. Like all Chapo furniture, this is a bold and robust piece of furniture anchored to tradition. It is distinguished by the four square-section legs that curve at the bottom (aesthetic that acquires the name of "duck foot") to converge at the central shaft. Pierre Chapo was initially interested in painting, but his meeting with a shipbuilding carpenter in 1947 introduced him to wood and carpentry, and led him to study architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. After traveling in Scandinavia, Central America and working for a year in the United States, he returned to Paris and pursued his interest in wood, crafting furniture mainly from solid oak, elm, ash or teak with a dual concern for contemporary design and traditional know-how. In the French capital he opened his own workshop. Influenced by the work of Charlotte Perriand for the alpine ski resort of Les Arcs, his participation in the 1967 Salon de la Société des artistes décorateurs earned him a bronze medal.

WILHELM KNOLL (1876-1958). Vintage sofa "Trepers" from the "Antimot" series, 1960s. Solid lacquered teak frame, loose spring cushions upholstered in original woollen fabric. It shows signs of wear and tear typical of age. Measurements: 60 x 76 x 182 cm. Depth approx. 75 cm. Three-seater sofa of Danish design, with teak wood structure and body and cushions in beige wool. The structure is sober and geometric, softened by the slight inclination of the backrest and the corners rounded by the upholstery. The armrest has a slight curvature and the legs are bambi-style, a very common typology in Danish design from the 1950s and 1960s. Both the seat and backrest have padded cushions for greater comfort. Founder of the Knoll dynasty, Wilhelm Knoll opened the doors of his "leather workshop" in Stuttgart, Germany. He was a leather expert. In 1864, he lived for a year in Paris, the world centre of leather, fashion and luxury goods. Knoll leather" became the hallmark of quality, and the House of Württemberg named Wilhelm Knoll "purveyor to the royal court".

Side table from the 1950s. Gilded brass and mosaic on the top. Measurements: 55,5 x 70 x 70 cm. Low side table of design of the fifties, with triangular top decorated with mosaics of sepia, red and yellow tones, and three legs of the type "bambi", of circular section and narrower towards the base, typical of the fifties. This type of legs add lightness to the design.

CARPENTER CUSTOM high chest of drawers. Germany, 1970s. Oak wood. Solid oak handles and edge details with oak veneered surfaces. Very good original condition. Measurements: 111 x 63 x 44 cm. German chest of drawers designed by the German manufacturer Carpenter Custom Tall in the 70's that reflects the character of the German furniture of the time. It is a piece of furniture of harmonic proportions and geometric structure, of clean lines but avoiding being monolithic playing with the recessed bodies. The cabinetmaker respects the natural wood, and as such we see here, the oak, taking advantage of its expressive grain on the front, its organic and irregular character in contrast with the geometric rigor of the structure. The furniture has drawers with ring handles entirely made of solid oak.
