The next day, Wednesday, October 28, a bird-shaped tabletop lighter—crafted by Julius Rappoport, a master silversmith in St. Petersburg in the 19th-century period for the House of Fabergé—will be the highlight of the auction. Set in silver, the piece depicts a stylized bird with eyes set with cabochons, the interior of which conceals the ignition mechanism (€25,000–30,000). Contemporary jewelry is represented by an 18-karat white and yellow gold ring, set with a 6.19-carat princess-cut diamond, N-O color and VVS2 clarity (€28,000–30,000). Russian imperial silverwork is represented by a silver and vermeil kovsh, crafted in Moscow in 1744 (€25,000–27,000).
