Japanese Art
A bronze animal group with a dark patina, dating from the Meiji period, depicts an elephant facing two tigers, with inlaid eyes. It measures approximately 34 × 45 cm and is estimated at €2,500–3,500. The art of suiseki, or contemplation stones, is exemplified by a natural stone with a lichen-like patina, whose reliefs evoke a mountain pierced by a natural hole; it stands approximately 40 cm tall and is estimated at €1,000–1,500. In the prints section, Hakuho Hirano (1879–1957) created *Kagami no mae* in 1932—a scene of a woman in front of a mirror—printed in color with gold metallic pigment, with an estimate of €1,000–1,500. The same price range applies to *Miho no Matsubara*, a view of Mount Fuji from Miho Beach, a color print by Hasui Kawase (1883–1957).
