PRESTIGE Sale
A tribute to a Turkish painter: the painting*Woman with a Headscarf Against the Background of a Mountain Village*,created in 1984 by Nuri Iyem, will go under the hammer with an estimate of €18,000–25,000 (See GazetteNo. 37, page 131). A beautiful example of the realistic style of this painter, who was nostalgic for life in the Anatolian countryside. Back to Roanne with the Fauvist Jean Puy. His work*Woman at the Window*, an oil on paper from 1905 from the collection of Patrice Mithois, will be offered for €13,000–18,000. Also of interest will be a Breitling “Chrono Cockpit 1884” watch, purchased in 1998, with an estimated price of 1,400/2,000 €, as well as five ceramics by South Korean artist Young-Jae Lee, who has lived in Germany since 1972 and has been director of the Margaretenhöhe Ceramics Studio in Essen since 1987 (€1,500–3,000).
