Dom Pérignon, Yquem and Fine Bordeaux: Treasures from Maison Prunier's Cellar

O n 20 September at the Hôtel Drouot, Tessier & Sarrou will auction the wine cellar of one of Paris’s most illustrious addresses: Maison Prunier.
Since 1925, this stunning Art Deco restaurant, with its turquoise-blue mosaic façade on Avenue Victor Hugo (16th arrondissement), has welcomed Parisian high society and a cosmopolitan clientele. For a century, it has been far more than a dining spot – a discreet witness to Parisian history and gastronomic rituals, where exquisite wines were meticulously paired with caviar and seafood.

After Francis Scott Fitzgerald, who is said to have completed The Great Gatsby here, countless luminaries have crossed its threshold: Jean Cocteau, Ernest Hemingway, Marilyn Monroe, Yves Montand… Colette was a regular, Joséphine Baker famously ordered lobster, and Salvador Dalí once requested a dish “as extravagant as his imagination,” perfectly matched with a sublime Montrachet.

Every bottle preserved tells a story of this legendary house: post-theatre dinners, ambassadorial luncheons, and Parisian nights of revelry that only the capital can offer. Behind these timeworn labels lies an entire era. Today, a new chapter begins. Elegantly, the cellar is revealed, offering its treasures to collectors, connoisseurs, and anyone eager to own a piece of Parisian history.

Maison Prunier’s cellar showcases a selection of exceptional bottles, including Bordeaux Premiers Grands Crus, Bordeaux Grands Crus, champagnes, and spirits:
- 1 magnum of Dom Pérignon, 2009 (estimate: €300–400)
- 1 bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé, 2005 (estimate: €180–250)

A rare opportunity to taste Parisian legend in a bottle – and perhaps take a piece of it home.
