卡尔·邓尼茨亲笔签名文件，请求指派其在纽伦堡的辩护律师 德文文件，由“卡尔·邓尼茨”签名，单页双面，尺寸8×12.75，1945年10月30日。 邓尼茨致函“国际军事法庭秘书长，纽伦堡法院大楼”，信中部分内容（译文）如下：“我希望聘请以下人员作为我的辩护律师：1）海军法官克兰茨布勒博士…… 或 2) 鲁道尔菲海军上将博士”，二人均隶属于位于弗伦斯堡附近格吕克斯堡的海军总司令部。邓尼茨继续写道：“通过海军总司令部清算办公室，可轻松核实这两位海军法官的现行地址。 如果这两位均无法出任，我请求海军总司令部的瓦尔泽查海军上将将军提名一位合适的海军法官担任我的辩护人。” 保存状况良好至极佳，背面贴有档案纸，导致最后一段和签名难以辨认。 奥托·克兰茨布勒尔随后在审判中担任了邓尼茨的实际辩护律师，提出了整个纽伦堡审判中最受推崇的法律辩护之一，此后多年里，人们普遍认为正是这一辩护帮助邓尼茨获得了相对较轻的十年刑期。
