清代十八世纪非凡如意 饰有长生不老菇的吉祥权杖 这支权杖由整块根木制成，很可能是檀木或竹根，表面完全雕刻着丰富繁复的云纹、龙纹和奇兽纹样，这些高浮雕图案以惊人的精湛技艺呈现。 柄身全长饰有人物、佛狮、嬉戏的孩童（中国式天使）、盘踞于云雾与藤蔓中的龙等图案，线条流畅连贯，动感十足。 木材呈现出美丽的蜂蜜色金黄包浆。清朝（1644-1911） 尺寸：41 x 9.5 厘米 来源： 卡洛·扎农（Carlo Zanon，1889年，意大利斯基奥——1972年，摩纳哥），后由让-欧仁·吉洛（Jean-Eugène Guillaud）收藏，摩纳哥。 如意是中华帝国文化中最具象征意义且最为珍贵的器物之一。 在乾隆皇帝——中国历史上最重要的皇帝之一——的统治时期，用树根雕刻而成的如意达到了无与伦比的精湛工艺和精致程度。它们在重要的皇家典礼上作为吉祥与长寿的象征被作为礼物赠送。 巴黎吉美博物馆藏有一件类似的雕花紫檀如意，藏品编号为INV. MG13711。
