助忠：一件以狮子护球为题材的精美木制根付 作者：江黑助忠（1851-1915），署名“助忠 亮忠” 日本，飞驒国高山，19世纪，江户时代（1615-1868） 这件作品雕刻精湛，刻画了一只威猛的狮子，正蹲伏在巨大的镂空球体上方，以保护姿态守护着它。狮子肌肉发达的身体被浓密的鬃毛所环绕，鬃毛以深雕的卷曲发束形式呈现。 凶猛的头部神态生动：眼球凸出，眉宇紧蹙，鼻梁宽阔，张开的嘴中露出尖利的牙齿和伸出的舌头。圆润的四肢造型大胆，前爪稳稳地环抱住球体，而丰盈的鬃毛则以一缕缕清晰可辨的卷曲发束，如瀑布般倾泻而下。 作品保留天然的“himotoshi”纹理，并在镶嵌的矩形区域内刻有“SUKETADA”签名。 长度 4 厘米 状况：其中一只爪子经过修复。除此之外，品相极佳。 江黑助忠（1851-1915）承袭了江黑助春（1831-1901）与平田助友（1809-1847）的艺术血脉，后者是飞驒流雕刻派的奠基人之一。 本件作品是助忠最喜爱的题材之一。 拍卖对比： 可参考同一艺术家创作的、与本件密切相关的狮子持锦球木制根付，署名“助忠”，宽4厘米，曾于邦瀚斯（Bonhams）“法国私人收藏精品根付”拍卖会上亮相， 2020年11月4日，伦敦，第143号拍品（成交价4,062英镑，约合 6,200欧元，按本文撰写时的汇率换算并考虑通货膨胀因素后调整）。
