卡尔·哈通 （1908年汉堡——1967年柏林） 《诡异的头颅 I》，1946年 青铜，镀金色锈蚀处理。39 x 20 x 30 厘米。第 11/20 号作品。背面颈部处有“HARTUNG”签名印章及编号。 卡尔·哈通是德国抽象雕塑的先驱之一；其作品形式游走于具象与抽象之间。他曾参展第一、二、三届卡塞尔文献展（documenta I, II und III），并于1955年至1967年担任德国艺术家联盟主席。 《诡异的头颅 I》创作于1946年，即哈通艺术事业取得突破之年。颅骨形状呈宽阔的弧形，顶部大幅外扩，并由一条短而无底座的颈部支撑。 从侧面看，面部特征尤为鲜明：笔直的额头线条、鼻子、呈扁平锯齿状的嘴巴以及下巴。耳朵、头发和眼睛均未呈现。在眼睛的位置，雕塑表面被穿透。其诡异之处不在于变形，而在于省略。 这颗头颅仍可被识别为头颅，但正因如此才显得异样。尤其是那个孔洞：本该有目光凝视之处，却能透过雕塑看到其内。那光洁的表面同时将观者的倒影映回给观者。
