Pair of Art Deco cabinets attributed to PAOLO BUFFA (1903-1970). Italy, 1940s. Lacquered wood and parchment. Keys included. Measurements: 120 x 80 x 40 cm. Extraordinary pair of desks or secretaire, Art Deco style and period, attributed to the Italian designer Paolo Buffa. Refined and elegant, they follow the style of the splendid designer and are made of black lacquered wood and parchment. The design, with clean and simple lines, focuses attention on its long legs of decreasing diameter and on the contrast created by the materials. With a black and white exterior, it impresses when you open its door and discover the red and embossed leather, which creates an elegant and striking effect. Paolo Buffa's work stands out for the perfection of execution and the neoclassical influence on his style, which the designer acquired during his training at Gio Ponti's studio throughout the 1920s. The solid and elegant lines that characterize his furniture seem to emulate a continuity between the 19th and 20th centuries. Of this pair of design gems, the use of parchment stands out. This element of animal origin is obtained from the hairless and well stretched skin of the cow or lamb, although even squirrel skin has been used. Its origin dates back to a time before Christ, remains of papyrus have been found from the second century B.C. Its use has been varied, from writing and illuminations to the coating of other objects such as books or furniture for decorative purposes, conferring luxury and prestige to the piece. The design, although always evolving, does not lose the essence of good materials.

BERNARD VUARNESSON (France, 1935) for BELLATO. Coffee table "Hexa Par-4", 1980. Wood and laminate. In good condition. Measurements: 70 x 70 x 40 cm (closed). Ingenious and versatile coffee table with sliding and reversible tops that allow to change its appearance in just a few seconds. It is an ideal piece of furniture for small spaces as the basic size is 70-70 cm, but can be extended up to 140-140 cm. It was designed by Bernard Vuarnesson and was manufactured by Bellato in Italy during the 1980s. Bernard Vuarnesson was trained in engineering at the Ecole Supérieure du Bois (Ecole Supérieure du Bois) and in civil engineering at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris. In 1973, he founded the company "Sculptures-Jeux" with his wife Ariane. From 1975 to 1980, the couple taught outdoor playground design at the Ecole d'Architecture Intérieure Camondo in Paris. From 1982 onwards, their furniture used combinations of systems that made it possible to modulate the dimensions and appearance at any time.

Palm tree lamp. Attributed to MAISON JANSEN, ca. 1980's. Brass shaft, metal leaves. It shows wear and marks of use. Measurements: 76 x 27 x 27 cm. Floor lamp in the form of a palm tree, with brass shaft and metal leaves with mahogany patina. It is probable that it belongs to Maison Jansen, because it follows the same models and the same technique as the palm tree lamps of this prestigious house dedicated to luxury decoration. The Palmera lamp is the star piece of Maison Jansen, an icon for lovers of interior decoration. With a proven track record, Maison Jansen has decorated the residences of such important personalities as the Kennedys, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Coco Chanel and the March family. Founded in 1880 by Dutch designer Jean-Henri Jansen (1854-1928), its aesthetics were based on French furniture combined with aesthetic influences from around the world. His most sought-after pieces reflected the influence of antique designs from the Louis XIV, Louis XVI, Directory and Empire eras, as well as objects Jansen found during his travels to Japan and Turkey. It shows wear and tear and marks of use.
