Description

(sl. soiling, f. 2 loose, wormtracks to first ff. with some minor loss of text). Later half mottled sheep, spr. paper covers, gilt-ruled spine with raised bands, red spr. edges (rubbed, flylvs missing, wormholes to spine, head def.). Rare edition of Boiardo's famous chivalric poem (1st complete ed.: 1495), edited by Lodovico Domenichi. The poet Boiardo (1440-1494) was at the service of the Dukes of Ferrara. However Comin da Trino was one of the most active printers in 16th-c. Venice, nothing is known for sure about his life. George Hamilton Seymour (1797-1880), British diplomat (bookpl.).
