Gilt and roll-stamped contemp. vellum, flat spine, marbled endpaper, a.e.g. Intriguing small manuscript, probably to easily fit into one's pocket when going out for a dance. On the left sides 60 (59 + one 59bis) numbered short music scores of circa 15 bars each. On the right side instructions with numbers and sm. curly drawings on how to perform the dance of the music shown on the left side. Hereafter titled music scores such as "La Comédie", "Le Bal du Mercredi", "Ma favoritte", "La Rosette Baptiste", "La Boudeuse", "Elle est partie, quel domage!", "Le petit Carnaval", "La fauterelle", "La Capricieuse", "Ma Tante sur des Echasses", "La Partie du Loup", "Les Italiens", "La Fiancée", "La Zeelandaise", "La Louise", "La Huffel", "Paillas", etc. with written (no longer drawn) instructions on how to dance, e.g. "Le pr: C. tourne de la main droite, chasse les bras à l'Allemande entre le Sec: jusqu'au trois: C." etc. (La Rosette).
