Wataru Yoshizumi è una rinomata mangaka giapponese, celebre per i suoi contributi al genere shōjo, rivolto principalmente alle giovani lettrici. Ha debuttato nel 1984 sulla rivista Ribon Original con la storia “Radical Romance” e ha raggiunto la popolarità con “Handsome na Kanojo” (1988). La sua opera più famosa, *Marmalade Boy*, iniziò a essere pubblicata nel 1992 e divenne un fenomeno internazionale grazie al suo adattamento anime del 1994. In Spagna, la serie ha riscosso grande successo con il titolo *La familia crece*, diventando un punto di riferimento per l’animazione giapponese trasmessa in televisione negli anni ’90.
