Maschera Bwa, Burkina Faso. Importante maschera del fabbro Kobiay (Hombo), detta «maschera del gallo», di notevole vigore scultoreo, si distingue per la cresta a spirale particolarmente elaborata, il cui doppio contorno traforato disegna un movimento ampio e armonioso. Il volto tubolare, incorniciato da appendici spigolose, termina con una potente bocca quadrangolare dai denti a vista. La superficie del legno rivela una patina antica dall’aspetto eroso, che mescola sfumature terrosi, abrasioni e tracce di motivi incisi. Provenienza: ex collezione Jean Lecluse, Liegi.
