Importante maschera Gouro, Costa d’Avorio. Legno scolpito con una profonda patina di colore bruno-nero e bruno-rossastro. Spettacolare maschera proveniente dal nord del territorio Gouro, dominata da due lunghe corna di antilope e caratterizzata dalla straordinaria composizione grafica del volto, con occhi fortemente sporgenti, naso lungo e affusolato e bocca dentata. Gohitafla è storicamente riconosciuta come uno dei centri più importanti della tradizione delle maschere Gouro. Prima metà del XX secolo. Base inclusa. Provenienza: Collezione Jean Lecluse, Liegi; raccolta nel 1964 a Gohitafla (vecchia grafia: Gouitafla). Altezza: 45 cm
