Gloeden, Wilhelm von Mandiiani in fiore a Monte Ziretto, Taormina. 1903. Stampa all’albumina. 22,5 x 16,8 cm. Timbro di studio blu-violetto sul retro: “W. VON GLOEDEN / TAORMINA (Sicilia) / PROPRIETÀ ARTISTICA”; annotazione a matita in alto a sinistra sul retro. Questa veduta, catalogata da Gloeden con il n. 2645, ritrae il Monte Ziretto sopra Castelmola, sulle colline alle spalle di Taormina, nel pieno della fioritura dei mandorli. Le figure, disposte con cura, animano il sentiero appartato e trasformano il paesaggio siciliano, osservato con grande attenzione, in una visione pastorale – una controparte evocativa delle composizioni figurative arcadiche per cui Gloeden è maggiormente noto. – Lievi segni di maneggio e leggero arricciamento; minima usura dei bordi; per il resto in ottime condizioni.
