Bryan Ingham, britannico, 1936-1997 - Between Us Stretches the White Sea, 1991; pastello su carta, firmato con le iniziali in basso a destra e annotato lungo il bordo inferiore «Between us stretches the white sea. A. O. / studio per scultura ix giugno 1995», 37 x 28,5 cm (montato/senza cornice) (ARR) Provenienza: l’eredità dell’artista Nota: Ingham traeva ispirazione dall’ambiente rurale che lo circondava, astraendo la topografia della costa frastagliata e delle dolci colline della Cornovaglia. Il suo stile fa inoltre chiaro riferimento ai pilastri del modernismo europeo: Picasso, Braque e Mondrian. L’artista ha studiato al Central St Martins e al Royal College of Art. È poi diventato un membro fondamentale del movimento di St Ives, traendo ispirazione da Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth e Peter Lanyon. Le opere dell’artista sono conservate in collezioni pubbliche, tra cui l’Ashmolean Museum di Oxford e il Victoria & Albert Museum di Londra.
