Theodor Kern, austriaco/britannico 1900–1969 - Sei studi per la Via Crucis; acquerello su carta, 31,8 x 23,8 cm: insieme ad altri 5 acquerelli su carta dello stesso artista delle stesse dimensioni (senza cornice) (5) (ARR) Nota: L’artista emigrato Kern giunse in Gran Bretagna nel 1938 e realizzò numerose opere su commissione per luoghi di culto, tra cui l’Abbazia di Buckfast e la Chiesa di San Paolo a Bedford. Come il suo contemporaneo Hans Feibusch, trovò il modo di introdurre un linguaggio pittorico moderno nelle opere d’arte sacra. Molte delle sue opere fanno parte di collezioni pubbliche, tra cui quelle della Wardown House, Museum & Gallery e del North Hertfordshire Museum. Kern realizzò una serie di Stazioni della Via Crucis per la chiesa di Sant’Anselmo e Santa Cecilia a Kingsway, Londra.
