UN PREGIOSO CANDELIERE OTTOMANO IN OTTONE DORATO, FINE DEL XVIII – INIZIO DEL XIX SECOLO Un monumentale candeliere da moschea in ottone dorato di forma architettonica, con un ampio raccogli-gocce circolare sopra una base conica troncata che sostiene un alto portalume cilindrico. Il portacandela è inciso con una fascia di elegante calligrafia araba sopra un motivo geometrico a rombi finemente cesellato, mentre il bordo e la base sono decorati con fregi continui di arabeschi a volute. Realizzato in lamiera di ottone martellata e in rilievo, con decorazioni cesellate e incise, conserva una ricca patina dorata con segni di usura coerenti con l’età e l’uso. Un raffinato esempio di arte metallica religiosa ottomana, realizzato per l’uso in una moschea, in un santuario o in una fondazione religiosa (waqf). 1977 gr. Diametro 29 cm. Altezza 33 cm.
