Louis BOUTAN (1859-1934) "Fotografia subacquea di L. Boutan, docente alla Sorbona", 1898 Portfolio (copia dell’autore) composto da 5 stampe su carta citrata, annotazioni manoscritte sui montaggi, con la dicitura «fotografia subacquea 1898 di Louis Boutan» e «stampata da Pierre Petit fot.», autografo e dedica sulla seconda di copertina del portfolio 12,2 x 17 cm (4) - 22 x 17 cm (1) Louis Boutan è il primo a realizzare fotografie subacquee nel 1893. Questi esperimenti vengono condotti nell’ambito del laboratorio Arago a Banyuls-sur-mer. Insieme al fratello Auguste, ingegnere, sperimenta camere a tenuta stagna, dispositivi di illuminazione e riprese subacquee. Le sue ricerche sfociano nella realizzazione di fotografie istantanee e ritratti subacquei.
