CONDITION REPORT Mancanze, rotture e sostituzioni. Dimensioni cm. 69 x 22 x 17. MADONNA AND CHILD, late 16th century The artifact can be attributed to an unknown sculptor linked to archaizing and popular stylistic features, operating at the end of the 16th century. Mary's body is finished on the head and the lower part of the right arm, which are decorated with polychrome details on the flesh tones and hair; the remaining parts are only roughly hewn down to the base, as this type of artifact was dressed in fine fabrics. The blessing Child, attached at the height of the Madonna's left arm, is sculpted in the round, with traces of polychromy for the flesh tones and hair. The Virgin's crown, likely non-original as it has a smaller diameter than intended for the housing carved on Mary's head, is antique and made of repoussé silver, as is the small globus cruciger held in the right hand. CONDITION REPORT Losses, breakages, and replacements. Dimensions: 69 x 22 x 17 cm.
